Happy 32, Orlando! - a pictural summary of 2008 (*P incl.)

I'm pretty sure it's already the 13th in some corners of this planet - at least in Middle Earth and Ned Kelly Country.
So I'm better starting Orlando's Birthday picture thread right now.

At the same time this is a summary of Orlando in 2008 with a very subjective collection of this year's pictures, and in no way comprehensive.




Orlando 2008 in month by month pictures

January

Of friends, faith, devotion and cars.


Orlando spent New Year and early 2008 in LA, so he got snapped ...

with friends



in a news stand



at the Sokka Gakai Center



attending a late Christmas Party




The Toyota Corolla Altis campaign, already launched in late 2007, had its peak in January ...



with promo pictures



and TV spots.






While Orlando was photographed later that month at various places in LA.










At the end of January hires pictures of Orlando's trip to Nepal from the year before emerged which formerly only existed in tiny versions:

February

About Madonna, commercials, bright lights and dark streets of London, and back again.


The Toyota campaign went on, so let's have a couple of nice promotional portraits first.






Early February Orlando travelled to New York ...



... to attend Madonna's charity event to 'Benefit Raising Malawi'.






From there he came back to England ...



was caught strolling late at night in the streets of London ...






and finally made it to the BAFTAs -





where he not only satisfied some inquiries for autographs



posed for the inevitable photocall





held a speech for an award winner



and amused himself in the audience



but also attended the afterparty




On his way back to LA he made a stopover at NYC - and of course was papped.






In Hollywood Orlando was seen at various parties around the Oscars - of which sadly only this legless picture surfaced.




And a final pap photo of Orlando leaving a breakfast place in LA.




After the first campaign 2007, Orlando starred in another commercial for Uno Fibre Neo men's hair products in Japan.
This one started in late February 2008 with a couple of nice new promo pictures.

March

Of umbrellas, bikes, ladies, a painter, cold ice and green slime


The second Uno Fibre Neo campaign - several video clips went online in early March:






While Orlando was enjoying himself with Eric in Malibu.






... early exercise showing off his backside - see June for nekkid version the next level.


Orlando out and about looking for motorbike stuff in a Ducati store, being shaded with an umbrella, buying furniture, refuelling his car, paying a bill and holding a hand ... in Hollywood, Venice, Los Felize, LA ... you get the idea ... *deep breath*
















Later Orlando took part in a Charity event ("EBMRF" - please enlighten me) at Beso Restaurant in Hollywood ...



where he seemed to be the centre of the female crowd ...



and was also attending a Balenciaga store opening.




Apart from all this, there's also this special photo of Orlando, taken some time in March, in the SGI center, LA.




Blast from the past: a new edition of Sebastian's Book "Antarctica - a call to action" was published this month - with a foreword by Orlando.

Finally, the highlight of March. Orlando was slimed *yuck* at the 2008 Kid's Choice Awards.

April

Of airports, sunglasses, sleeping with Dostojevsky and horses a day at the races.


More random snaps of Orlando around LA ...








... until he arrived at JFK airport.




Obviously to shoot his part of "New York, I Love You" in NYC.

- an artist on a park bench in Central Park, falling asleep with high literature and fighting a pigeon ...











Some behind the scenes pics.
- parrot's hair style, sneaking out for a fume, a trailer, a red cardigan and more sun glasses.
















On the 23rd Orlando arrived in Sydney airport.



And was papped after having lunch around Sydney a couple of days later ...





Finally - the highlight of the Australia trip - at the Randwick Horserace in Sydney on the 26th.
- stylish Orlando, mostly in shades (again).











There are a few more pictures of Orlando in Australia at the end of April. But I had to shuffle them to May because this month is way to crowded ...

May

Of bikes, bikes again *yawns*, and a supermarket


Still in Australia, Orlando went motocross riding ...





... and tried to lure the god out of the machine - with a (different) bike.






Early May: byebye to Oz - LA here I come.






Carrying off food from a wholesale supermarket upon arrival.








But this was only a short intermission - yes, there are indeed bikes in California, too.
- at Glendale







Same place, same day, but a yellow Porsche ... for a change.






After this, several sightings indicated that Orlando went home to England. But sadly no pictures until next month.


One odd and end of May remains to be posted:
GQ magazine (UK) published the first picture of a photoshoot by Roxanne Lewit, taken during the BAFTA's in London (see February).

June

Of Gorbachev, a naked bum and Elton John ... music by Coldplay.


Like the years before, Orlando attended the annual Raisa Gorbachev Foundation Gala at Hampton Court, Richmond, UK, in early June.



A nice glass of champagne upon arrival.



Photocall including some tongue peekage.







And general socializing.






Later this month, Orlando was pictured backstage with the members of Coldplay before a concert in Brixton, England.




And now - the highlight of June ...
.. please brace yourself and lock out all underage children or any superiors/bosses from your room before scrolling any further!

May I present: The musings of Orlando in Gran Canaria, Spain - with and without attached cell phone ... and clothes.

It all started with an open fly on the balcony.



Went on with a naked chest ...



- and rolled up bathing shorts - still with cell attached.









The prelude of what is to come - cell phone removed ... besides other things ...



Finally, THE shocking premiere for Orlando fandom.
Yes, he indeed has a bum - proof is just a click (or 2) away.



*fans self* Okay ... back to normal - all kids and bosses can be allowed back in.

June ended like it had begun - with a charity event and party:
Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball to benefit his Aids Foundation, in Windsor, UK.
